Join us – July 27 at our Quentin Road Branch

We are hosting a one-year anniversary celebration for our Quentin Road branch, located at 1940 Quentin Road, Lebanon, on Friday, July 27, from 11 am to 2 pm. This event will feature a live radio broadcast with WQIC-FM 100.1 from 11 am to 1 pm. In addition, we will be serving free sodas, water and hot dogs while supplies last. Attendees may enter to win a Kindle Fire.

Keep in mind that even if you currently “bank” elsewhere, we make it easy to help you switch your account over to us. We’ll give you all of the forms you need. Don’t forget to ask us about our VISA Balance Transfer promotion and how you can get a VISA Debit Card that not only pays you when you use it, but that you can also personalize with your favorite personal photo. Ask an associate for details.

We look forward to seeing you at our Quentin Road branch one-year anniversary celebration.

Keep Yourself Safe When Using the ATM

Every day, millions of ATM transactions are successfully carried out around the world without any problems or interference by criminals or fraudsters. However, there are those times when they do occur. Don’t let convenience replace common sense when using an ATM. Be aware and stay aware. Here are some great tips:

  • Choose your ATM carefully.
  • Use familiar ATMs when possible. If that’s not possible, choose a well-lit, well-placed ATM. Avoid hidden or secluded ATMs. Scan the entire area around the ATM before you approach it. If anyone is loitering about or it appears to be too isolated, move on.
  • Always have your card ready if using a walk-up ATM. Avoid fumbling around with your wallet, looking for your card, talking on the phone.
  • Be sure the ATM hasn’t been altered. Look for suspicious attachments to the card slot or key pad.
  • Check for unusual instructions on the display screen. Watch for suspicious blank screens.
  • Do not use ATMs that have messages or signs attached to them indicating that the screen directions have changed, especially if the sign is posted over the card reader. Any instructions you need will appear on the screen.
  • If an ATM keeps your card, do not re-enter your PIN. Contact us immediately.
  • If the ATM instructs you to re-insert your card into a second card reader at the machine, do not do it.
  • Hit “cancel” at any time if you become suspicious of any machine instructions, equipment alterations or if you become uncomfortable about completing your transaction.
  • Keep all receipts and monitor your account.
  • When using the ATM, do your best to ensure transaction privacy. Try to shield the screen and the keypad so others cannot see what you are doing/typing.
  • When you complete your transaction, leave the machine. Take your receipt, your cash, your card and move on. Don’t stand/sit in your car at the machine and put your money away, fumble around and so on. Move away from the machine and then finish your tasks.
  • Keep your car doors locked when at the ATM. Only roll down your window. Keep your car running. If there is a line of cars, keep space between you and the next car so you have room to move/maneuver in the event you need to drive away.
  • Never force your card into the card slot.
  • Do not write your PIN on your card.
  • If your card gets jammed, retained or lost, call us immediately.

Pick Your ATM Wisely

It just makes good financial sense to avoid having to pay ATM surcharge fees whenever and wherever possible. Why would you want to pay a fee to wrap your hands around your money? There’s something that just doesn’t make a lot of sense about that.

Let’s face it, fees are ways in which any business, including a lot of financial institutions, make money. The difference here is that there are financial institutions that aren’t out to nickel and dime their customers, or members as they are commonly known. These financial institutions are called credit unions and they have their members’ best financial interest in mind.

A long time ago when credit unions came into existence, their operating philosophy centered around a cooperative nature. That means those involved pooled together, worked together, to help everyone who made up the whole. It wasn’t about me, myself, and I. It was, has been and continues to be about you, the member.

Today, credit unions have joined together to help out each other’s members save money, especially at the ATM. When you use an ATM in the CO-OP, CU$ and also in the NYCE ATM networks, you can avoid paying surcharge fees.

To find a surcharge free ATM near you or while you are travelling, visit the following. Please note that while you may not be charged a surcharge fee, you may be charged other fees such as non-sufficient fund fees. – click “Locations”, followed by “More Surcharge-Free ATMs”
